Bert’s foray into filmmaking was through documentary films. In 1995 Bert made a documentary chronicling his time in Moscow, Russia as an English teacher. In 2001 he made a documentary about the work being done in the lives of the Quechua people of Cusco, Peru. Making the documentary about Peru helped solidify in Bert the desire to make filmmaking his profession. While attending Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, Bert helped produce “Listen” which went on to win a Student Academy Award.
Through Put It On Film, Bert continues to make narrative and documentary films for individuals, corporations, companies, and non-profit organizations to list a few. For Bert, documentary filmmaking is a great way to bring to life issues and ideas in a way that no other medium does.
